6Degree Studio launched five traditional wear brands at the Fashion Design Council of India x Lakme Fashion Week. Designers Sanjukta Dutta, Gazal Mishra, Shaveta & Anuj, Tatwamm by Abhishek & Vinita, and Varun Chakkilam presented their latest collections at the phygital event organized jointly by FDCI and Lakme. Designer Sanjukta Dutta showcased a collection of classic saris in yellow, white, and primary colors that contrasted with more experimental looks like a neck ruffle and wide waistband. The bold borders of these saris contrasted with ivory and gold textiles.
Gazal Mishra’s collection mixed classic and fusion style silhouettes. Its anarkalis, kurtis and tunics were dominated by the coral pink color while silver embellishments gave these garments an ethnic touch. Shaveta & Anuj’ launched an ethnic wear collection featuring voluminous, glittering lehengas and sheer capes. The collection also featured coat dresses, long-line tops and bridal wear classics and pieces.
Abhishek & Vinita’s introduced a bright and feminine collection called Tatwamm. The collection comprised Zardozi saris, lehengas and printed textiles with glittering embellishments. Varun Chakkilam’s women’s wear collection comprised structured lehengas and light saris with floral design and shimmery borders. The FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week event was held from March 16-22, 2021.
