Womenswear design duo Gauri & Nainika launched their new romantic, whimsical collection on day two of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week (LMIFW). The collection was a celebration of femininity, florals, and vintage charm with a few minimal style outfits thrown in.
The brand’s fashion film showed models in voluminous floral gowns. The aesthetic was given an edge through styling and accessories and models wore retro style victory rolls in their hair, chunky black boots and dark lipstick courtesy of fashion week sponsor Lotus Herbals makeup.
Other notable looks included sheer chiffon gowns with tiny polka dots and sculpted bodices and 1950s style dresses in white with red flowers. Several simply cut, neutral toned dresses also made an appearance paired with slouchy boots for a Grecian aesthetic.
Gauri & Nainika launched a dedicated e-commerce store in July in response to store closures due to coronavirus and an increase in the popularity of online shopping. The brand specializes in evening wear and launched in New Delhi in 2002.
