Shoppers Stop Q1 sales spike up 306 per cent on the back of omni-channel strategy

31st July 2021, Mumbai:

For the first quarter Shoppers Stop sales grew by 306 per cent. The retail chain’s revenue for the quarter rose by 269 per cent. Omnichannel grew by 295 per cent and private brand volume grew by 96 per cent. Shoppers Stop is India’s leading premier retailer of fashion and beauty brands.

Established in 1991, it has around 89 department stores in 44 cities.

It plans to open over 20 stores across large and small formats in the coming quarters this fiscal year.

Shoppers Stop is evaluating its omni-channel strategy.

The fashion retailer sells products through own e-commerce portal and also has a micro site on Amazon as part of its exclusive partnership with the global e-commerce giant.

Shoppers Stop currently sells exclusively online to Amazon’s nationwide customer base offering its private labels in fashion like Stop, Kashish, Haute Curry, and RS by Rocky Star.

Shoppers Stop was hoping for a steep rise in online sales through its partnership with Amazon and was expecting online to contribute ten per cent from the current 1.5 per cent to the overall revenue.

The personal shopper service is a completely customised shopping experience which curates fashion for customers, schedules an exclusive visit at the store or at the customer’s home with offerings based on requirements.
