Kraus Jeans is intensifying its brick-and-mortar presence in Western India with the inauguration of its latest exclusive brand outlet (EBO) at City Center Mall, Nashik. This move is part of a broader corporate objective to open 20 new stores in 2026, tapping into the rising discretionary spending in Tier-2 urban hubs. While the national denim market is projected to reach $1,200 million by 2026-end, Kraus is distinguishing itself by focusing on the ‘Made-in-India’ ethos and diverse silhouettes. The Nashik store serves as a key touchpoint for the brand's Spring-Summer 2026 ‘Sunbound’ collection, featuring high-growth categories such as Korean pants and wide-leg silhouettes. Industry data suggests that regional consumers are increasingly shifting toward structured retail environments, with apparel now accounting for over 20 per cent of new leasing activity in Grade-A shopping malls.

Diversification and operational scaling

Beyond geographical expansion, the company is preparing for a significant entry into the footwear segment, specifically targeting the sneaker and casual footwear categories to complement its denim core. This horizontal expansion is designed to elevate Kraus from a specialized denim label to a comprehensive casualwear destination for women. \Ravi Punjabi, Managing Director, notes, the EBO format is critical for showcasing the brand’s ‘Cushion Comfort’ fabric innovations and ‘Kraus Kurves’ line, which specifically caters to Indian body types. Despite the challenges of volatile cotton pricing - which currently constitutes nearly 40 per cent of manufacturing costs - Kraus has maintained operational agility by streamlining its product-to-market cycle to just six weeks. This efficiency allows the brand to compete directly with global fast-fashion incumbents while maintaining a higher customer retention rate through localized fits.

Kraus Jeans is a dominant Indian women’s western wear brand specializing in denim-led casualwear. Operating a network of over 30 exclusive outlets and thousands of multi-brand points across India, the company focuses on delivering high-tech fabric comfort and contemporary silhouettes. With an ambitious plan to open 20 outlets annually, Kraus aims to secure a larger share of the $50 billion Indian festive and casualwear market by leveraging its indigenous manufacturing capabilities and expanded category footprint.
