Reliance Brands partners with Stella McCartney to launch operations in India

A major player in India’s luxury retail space, Reliance Brands has partnered with British designer Stella McCartney to introduce her renowned brand to the Indian market. McCartney is widely recognized for her pioneering work in eco-friendly and vegan fashion.

The collaboration will utilize a multichannel distribution model to showcase the brand's signature ready-to-wear clothing, along with its handcrafted vegan accessories and footwear.

Since launching her brand in 2001, McCartney has consistently championed sustainable practices. As the daughter of Beatles legend Paul McCartney, the 51-year-old designer has built her entire brand philosophy around avoiding the use of leather, feathers, fur, and exotic skins, promoting animal-free alternatives instead.

McCartney has demonstrated her commitment to innovation through her designs. For instance, her recent Paris Fashion Week collection featured ‘fevvers’- faux feathers developed with a British startup and the Mumbai-based Chanakya International. The collection also included a special type of air-purifying denim capable of absorbing carbon dioxide.

This latest association further diversifies RBL’s extensive portfolio of luxury brand partnerships, which includes major names like Valentino, Versace, Jimmy Choo, and Tiffany & Co. The McCartney brand currently operates 47 retail locations in major fashion hubs worldwide, including London, Paris, and New York.
