The Q2, FY26 standalone revenue of Indian clothing retailer Trent increased by 17 per cent, marking its slowest growth rate since the quarter ending March 2021. It falls significantly short of its recent goal of 25 per cent growth.
Owner of popular brands like Westside and Zudio, Trent’s slowing revenue growth over recent quarters has sparked concerns among analysts.
They worry, the company’s operating performance is declining due to muted sales growth, suggesting that middle-class shoppers are increasingly feeling the squeeze from higher living costs and cutting back on purchases.
Despite this recent slowdown, the Mumbai-based retailer - with its Zudio-led focus on young adults who frequently buy trendy but affordable fashion - managed to achieve more than 35 per cent CAGR in the past five years.
