Indian designers shine at Fourth Moscow Fashion Week, showcasing sustainability
The Fourth Moscow Fashion Week, held from March 13 to 18, 2025, at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall, reaffirmed its significance in global fashion. The event brought together top designers, industry experts, and buyers, serving as a hub for creative exchange and innovation. Indian designers stood out with their unique interpretations of cultural heritage fused with modern aesthetics, leaving a lasting impression on international audiences.
A major highlight was the presentation ‘FDCI presents: CoEK-Khadi India | Samant Chauhan,’ organized by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). The collection celebrated India’s deep-rooted fashion traditions while emphasizing sustainability. Khadi, a historic and eco-friendly fabric, took center stage, blended seamlessly with contemporary designs. This showcase reinforced India’s commitment to ethical fashion, aligning with the global push toward sustainability.
The event featured runway presentations from Russian and international designers, panel discussions, and lectures on fashion trends. The World Fashion Shorts festival, held at the Artplay Design Center, screened films from Argentina, Germany, Mexico, Russia, the United States, the Philippines, and South Africa, adding a cultural and intellectual dimension to the event.
With approximately 200 industry professionals in attendance, Moscow Fashion Week fostered international collaboration and deeper cultural ties. Indian designers not only showcased their craftsmanship but also contributed to a broader dialogue on responsible fashion. Their presence highlighted India's growing influence in sustainable and luxury fashion, positioning them as key players in the evolving global industry.
