08 July, Mumbai 2025

Organized by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), the 81st National Garment Fair (NGF) will focus exclusively on the dynamic womenswear and menswear segments, offering a crucial platform for brands and retailers to connect and capitalize on evolving consumer trends.

To be held from July 14-16, 2025 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, the NGF will span over 15,000 sq m for menswear, 21,000 sq m for womenswear, and 700 sq m for accessories. It will host 800 stalls showcasing the latest collections from 480 womenswear brands, 340 menswear brands, and 40 accessories brands, aiming to attract an estimated 20,000 pan-India buyers. This grand-scale trade event is designed to foster invaluable B2B connections, allowing industry players to collaborate and expand their reach by presenting new fashion trends for the upcoming Indian festive and wedding season.

According to Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, both the menswear and womenswear segments in India are experiencing significant growth. Currently valued at $38 billion, the menswear market is projected to reach $58 billion by 2029, driven by increased demand for ethnic and occasion-specific wear. Similarly, the womenswear market is expected to grow from $36billion to $55 billion, supported by a rising preference for modern Indian and Western styles. These trends highlight the aspirations of new-age consumers, particularly in Tier II and III cities, and the growing influence of branded fashion.

Rohit Munjal, Vice President and Chairman, Sub-Committee, CMAI. emphasizes the significance of this NGF edition, as the womenswear and menswear categories together account for over 75 per cent of the Indian apparel market. Anand Chokshi, Joint Chairman, Fair Sub-Committee, CMAI, notes the evolving trends, including the increasing demand for casual and ethnic wear in menswear, and the diversification of womenswear into fusion styles, athleisure, and occasion-driven purchases. Women are increasingly influencing household apparel decisions, making them key drivers of demand.

The fair will feature prominent menswear brands such as Double Bull, American Hustler, and John Morris, alongside leading womenswear labels including Juniper, Go Colors, and Liva. Having successfully delivered 80 editions, the NGF continues to be the premier trade fair for the Indian apparel industry, strengthening CMAI’s position as a vital trade facilitator.
