India’s leading value fashion retailer, Citykart is gearing up for a major expansion with the launch of over 25 to 30 new stores across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, and Odisha.

Timed perfectly ahead of the festive season, this expansion marks the brand’s entry into 15 new cities. Supported by an investment of approximately Rs50 crore, this initiative is expected to generate employment for 500 to 600 people, demonstrating Citykart’s commitment to supporting local communities and strengthening India’s retail markets.

The retailer will open new stores in key cities such as Ranchi, Gaya, Bhagalpur, and Muzaffarpur in Bihar, Tezpur in Assam, Phulbani in Odisha, and Jhansi, Agra, Banaras, and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. The expansion will also see Citykart launch its first store in New Delhi, broadening its reach to the capital.

Ritesh Rathi, COO, Citykart Retail, says, launching 25 to 30 new stores across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and other states is part of the company’s commitment to serve its customers better. The enthusiastic response from customers motivates the brand to expand our store network and enhance its product range. The brand focuses on catering to families in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, especially during the festive season, with a variety of affordable fashion options, he adds.

Through this expansion, Citykart aims to boost foot traffic not only for festive shopping but also for the wedding and winter seasons. Currently, the retailer operates 108 stores across nine states, with a strong presence in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
