Flipkart shuts down ANS Commerce’s operations, terminates entire workforce

E-commerce giant Flipkart has announced the closure of its subsidiary, ANS Commerce, resulting in the layoff of its entire workforce. Established in 2017, ANS Commerce provided comprehensive support services including marketing tools and warehousing solutions to businesses aiming to sell products online. Flipkart acquired the company in 2022.

Confirming the development, Flipkart states, a full-stack e-commerce enabler, ANS Commerce was acquired by Flipkart in 2022. However, now the company has decided to close its operations and remain committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all stakeholders, including employees and customers.

To mitigate the impact on affected employees, Flipkart plans to offer internal opportunities within the company, outplacement services, and severance packages.

The exact number of employees impacted by the closure remains undisclosed. ANS Commerce had approximately 600 employees at the end of the fiscal year 2022.
