A leading footwear retailer in India, Metro Brands has appointed MohitDhanjal as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective August 1, 2024. Dhanjal's extensive background in the retail industry spans over three decades during which he has consistently driven strategic growth and innovation.
As the new COO of Metro Brands, Dhanjal will oversee efforts to optimise the company's operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all processes. This includes refining supply chain logistics, enhancing customer service, and streamlining internal workflows.
Dhanjal will also spearhead initiatives to improve business processes, leveraging technology and data analytics to drive performance improvements and support Metro Brands' growth objectives. Additionally, he will play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term strategic vision of the company, aligning operational goals with broader corporate strategies. He will also manage the daily operations of the company, ensuring that all departments function cohesively to achieve the company's business goals.
Before joining Metro Brands, Dhanjal served as the Chief Revenue Officer for Tira Beauty at Reliance Retail. In this role, he was instrumental in launching the company's multi-brand beauty retailing initiative in the prestige and luxury segments of India. His leadership facilitated the entry of the company into a competitive market, setting a solid foundation for growth.
Throughout his career, Dhanjal has held significant leadership positions at prominent companies. As a senior executive as Sephora, he played a crucial role in expanding the brand’s footprint in India. He also contributed to strategic initiatives of Raymond by focusing on retail expansion and brand diversification.
Upon his appointment, Dhanjal expressed enthusiasm about joining Metro Brands during a pivotal phase of its growth journey. He emphasised his commitment to accelerate strategic priorities and enhance customer experiences at Metro Brands. He also aims to foster innovation and strengthen the company’s position in the market.
