Shoppers Stop narrows Q1, FY26 net loss to Rs 157.4 million

Department store giant Shoppers Stop reported a significantly narrower loss in Q1, FY26, as the retailer benefited from robust demand by affluent customers for like luxury watches, perfumes, and high-end apparel.
The company narrowed its a net loss of Rs 157.4 million for the quarter ending June, as against Rs 227.2 million loss recorded a year earlier. Their revenue from operations increased by 8.6 per cent during the quarter with like-for-like sales growing by 5 per cent.
The sales growth for Shoppers Stop was led by the watches and apparel categories which registered 19 per cent and 9 per cent growth in sales respectively during the quarter.
Excluding online sales and its budget-friendly Intune retail unit, the average selling price at Shoppers Stop stores rose 3 per cent Y-o-Y to Rs 1,740 rupees in Q1, FY26. Premium offerings now constitute a significant 67 per cent of the company's revenue, an 8 percentage point increase from the previous year. Shoppers Stop anticipates this segment will grow to 70 per cent of its total revenue by FY26-end.
