Shravan Kumar unveils latest womenswear collection in Bengaluru

Renowned Hyderabad-based fashion designer Shravan Kummar unveiled his latest womenswear collection, 'Bangalore to Belgium: Tassels, Threads, and Tradition,' at a special presentation in Bengaluru. Coinciding with the pre-opening event of the Indian Craft Brewery, the launch event blended fashion with craft heritage.
A tribute to India’s timeless craftsmanship, Kummar’s collection showcased traditional techniques infused with modern elegance. From the grandeur of Banarasi weaves and Karnataka’s Ilkal to the storytelling art of Mata ni Pachedi and Kalamkari, the ethically handwoven fabrics used in this collection honor centuries of heritage while embracing contemporary global aesthetics, says Kumar
To create the dazzling designs in this collection, Kummar utilized traditional Ilkal embroidery from Karnataka and luxurious Banarasi textiles. The collection also features the intricate Gujarat textile art of Mata ni Pachedi, transforming these age-old techniques into pieces that blend tradition with innovation.
Specializing in women’s occasion wear, Kummar has been a prominent figure in Indian fashion for nearly 25 years. In addition to clothing, he also runs a luxury décor line. His dedication to preserving India’s textile arts through sustainable and ethical practices remains central to his brand’s ethos.
