Footwear major Skechers India expects pentup demand to fuel sales post lockdown. The American footwear major plans to add 40-50 new stores this year. It currently has over 300 stores across India and plan to take this number to 500. Rahul Vira, CEO informs, the company has a lot of stores in the pipeline and some of them are in fit-out stage. It plans to open stores not just in metros and big cities but also Tier-II and III markets.
The footwear brand also plans to expand its footwear range in the India. One of its new initiatives will include the launch of safety footwear. The company aims to swiftly restart operations in line with various government protocols. One of its key priorities includes getting its staff and their family members vaccinated and the company is working on facilitating this process, adds Vira.
