Zudio more than doubles Westside’s store expansion

Tata’s apparel brand Zudio has surpassed its sister brand Westside in store expansion, operating more than double the number of stores.
Data shared by AdityaKondawar, Partner and Vice President, Compcircle, on the social media platform X, shows, Zudio’s retail network increased from 80 stores in Q1, FY21 to 559 stores currently. In contrast, Westside expanded from 163 stores in Q1, FY21 to the current 228 stores.
Over the past 16 quarters, Zudio added 470 stores, averaging a new store opening every three days. Meanwhile, Westside added 148 stores during the same period. As per Trent’s report, Westside expanded by 12 new stores to a total of 232 stores during the quarter ending March’24 while Zudio grew by 86 new stores during the same period to a total of 545 stores currently.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of the Trent-owned Booker India, Zudio is owned by Fiora Hypermarket whose total income increased from Rs 187.3 crore in the previous year to Rs 192.3 crore in the current year.
Meanwhile, Trent’s net profit expanded by 134.1 per cent Y-o-Y to Rs 391 crore in the quarter ending June 30. The retailer’s revenue rose by 56.2 per cent to Rs 4,104 crore for the April-June quarter, compared to Rs 2,628 crore in the same period last year.
