Prominent Indian lifestyle brand celebrated for its artisanal heritage, sustainable fashion, and conscious living, Fabindia has officially launched its first store in Sri Lanka. Held at the Havelock City Mall, the grand opening was attended by esteemed guests, including Santosh Jha, the High Commissioner of India, along with Fabindia representatives, media, and other notable members of Colombo's society. This debut marks the brand's arrival as a symbol of timeless craftsmanship and responsible consumption.
Established in 1960, Fabindia is one of India's largest private platforms for sustainable fashion. The brand’s business model connects over 55,000 rural artisans and farmers with international markets. Known for its commitment to ethical sourcing and community empowerment, Fabindia offers a wide range of products, from organic cotton and silk apparel to stylish home decor and lifestyle goods.
The new store in Colombo reflects the brand's signature earthy and welcoming design, which seamlessly blends traditional Indian handmade aesthetics with the warmth of Sri Lankan culture. The curated collection features Fabindia's well-known ethnic clothing as well as a selection of Western wear specifically adapted to local tastes. Guests at the launch event were given an exclusive preview of a collection designed specifically for the Sri Lankan market.

The new location will offer a diverse selection of products, including handcrafted ethnic and contemporary Western fashion for both men and women, bags, accessories, home decor, and wellness products. With a legacy spanning over 65 years, Fabindia operates more than 340 stores across 127 cities in India and has 11 international outlets in 7 countries. The brand’s offerings have expanded over the years to include jewelry, footwear, home furnishings, and organic food, all embodying a blend of aesthetics and affordability.
