Fashion vertical FWD helps Myntra grow Gen Z customer base to 16 million

Myntra’s Gen Z-focused fashion vertical and an app-in-app feature, FWD helped the e-commerce platform double its Gen Z customer base from 8 million in mid-2023 to 16 million in 2024.

Flipkart-owned entity plans to further add an additional 20-25 million Gen Z customers—those born in the late 1990s and early 2000s—over the next few years.

With the online trend-first fashion market projected to grow more than 8x into a $5 billion market by 2028, FWD by Myntra leads the charge in reshaping fashion for young India, highlighting the platform’s commitment to stay ahead of Gen Z's rapidly changing trends and preferences, as per a statement released by the e-commerce company, says Sunder Balasubramanian, CMO, Myntra.

The company aims to double its customer growth and deepen market penetration by leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance every aspect, from product selection to discovery and delivery.
