Festival months are boosting quick commerce sales in India. The combination of more shopping occasions, exciting offers, and fast delivery offers quick commerce platforms an opportunity to earn more in the year’s second half. As festivals continue to shape shopping habits, these platforms are set to grow even faster.
This year, during Raksha Bandhan, Swiggy Instamart reported 3.5 times more rakhi orders than last year, while Flipkart Minutes saw five times more gift orders, twelve times more sweets orders, and three times more dry fruit orders in the festival week.
Overall, sales rise by 20 per cent -30 per cent during festive months compared to normal months. Last financial year, quick commerce companies also reported a 15–2 per cent increase in annual order volumes thanks to festival sales, especially from smaller cities.
Zepto doubled its revenue to Rs 4,454 crore in the last financial year, showing strong performance, especially during the festive months.
