Gokaldas Exports’ Board has approved a draft scheme to merge BRFL Textiles (BTPL) with the company. Coming after a year of Gokuldas making a strategic investment in BTPL, this move is aimed at creating a vertically integrated apparel and textile business.
The merger is expected to provide significant benefits to Gokaldas Exports. It will help Gokuldas improve margins by integrating BRFL's fabric manufacturing capabilities. The company will be able to ensure a consistent supply of fabrics, and achieve faster response times for customers. BRFL Textiles specializes in a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, linen, viscose, and polyester, and operates a large single-location fabric processing plant in Tarapur, Maharashtra.
The merger is still subject to a number of approvals, including from stock exchanges, the National Company Law Tribunal, shareholders, and creditors. This strategic move is part of Gokaldas's broader strategy to enhance its competitiveness and service offerings in the global apparel market.
