KICL to open 100 exclusive stores for Kickers brand

On a revival path, Kothari Industrial Corporation (KICL) plans to open 100 exclusive stores for the French brand ‘Kickers along with 700 retail counters in the country and eight countries in the next two years.

Having opened the first Kickers fashion store in Chennai, KICL plans to follow this up by opening another nine stores in Qatar by March 2025. These stores will be opened in Qatar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai, notes J Rafiq Ahmed, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, KICL.

As per the proposed plan, the company will open 50 Kickers fashion stores alongwith 200 retail counters in the first year. Of these, 10 stores will be opened in the first year,

A part of the DC Kothari Group, the city based firm has signed a 30-year licensing and distribution agreement with Royer Group of France for Kickers brand for India and it would also export it to Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Bangladesh.

Asserting that they have already started producing Kicker brand of products such as footwear, men’s wear, women’s wear, kids wear, swim wear and fitness wear in Chennai, Ahmed said, the company sourced inner wear from North and bags from West Bengal. It also plans to source innerwear from Tiruppur.
