Bata India invests in “Red European store format”
14th September 2021, Mumbai:
The Indian arm of the Czech multinational footwear and accessories manufacturer Bata is investing in the “Red European store format”. The brand has invested in giant and in-mall stores over the past few years. Now it plans to acquire stores in ranging from 3,000-4,000 sq. ft, informs Anand Narang, Vice President-Marketing and Customer Experience. Some of the stores that match Bata’s requirement are those at Infinity Mall Malad and those in Bandra, Colaba, and Viviana Mall, Thane. These outlets are not only remarkable for the space they offer but also offer next generation of shoe shopping experiences, Narang adds.
The brand also plans to relaunch relaxed workwear collection with a mass media campaign featuring actor Kartik Aaryan. Its digital channels including Bata ChatShop and Bata Store on Wheels have increased revenues by thrice. Revenues are currently growing on an average four to five per cent. Entering India in the 1930s, Bata has evolved its portfolio in the last four to five years. The brand is increasingly focused on sneakers through brands such as North Star, Hush Puppies and Power.
