Amazon India targets cumulative exports worth $80 billion by 2030

As against its earlier target of $20 million by 2025, Amazon India aims to increase its cumulative exports from the country to $80 billion by 2030. At the fifth edition of the annual Smbhav Summit, the e-commerce company unveiled ambitious new initiatives to reinforce its commitment to India’s economic growth, including a substantial increase in its export targets.

The company aims to meet these targets by empowering Indian MSMEs, manufacturers, and D2C startups through its Global Selling Program, which facilitates the export of Made-in-India products across categories like Home & Kitchen, Apparel & Textiles, Toys, and Ayurveda.

Amazon has also signed an (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to further enhance India’s manufacturing ecosystem. This collaboration will help position India as a global manufacturing hub. Additionally, Amazon allocated $120 million from its Smbhav Venture Fund to invest in startups focused on digitising and scaling manufacturing processes, generating thousands of new jobs.

Emphasising on India’s significance for Amazon, Amit Agarwal, Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets, says, the e-commerce company is committed to empowering small businesses, boosting exports, and creating jobs. These initiatives align with the government’s vision of a Viksit Bharat and the Prime Minister’s goal of building a $5 trillion economy.

Praising Amazon’s efforts, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister highlights the vital role of private-sector collaboration in fostering innovation, strengthening logistics, and driving India’s economic growth through increased exports.

As part of its expansion, Amazon also introduced Amazon Freight and Amazon Shipping—logistics services offering cost-effective solutions for middle-mile and last-mile deliveries. These services aim to support businesses across India, covering over 14,000 pin codes.

Besides, Amazon had earlier pledged to digitise 10 million MSMEs, create 2 million jobs and enable $20 billion in exports by 2025. The company has already exceeded some targets, having digitised over 12 million MSMEs and reached $13 billion in cumulative exports.
