Metro Brands launches video campaign urging shoppers to recycle old shoes with the company

Footwear business Metro Brands has launched a video campaign urging shoppers to recycle their old shoes through Metro Brands. The campaign highlights the brand’s commitment to sustainability and reshaping industry norms through footwear recycling.

Nissan Joseph, CEO, Metro Brands says, the brand launches meaningful initiatives to address environmental challenges through sustainable processing of old and discarded footwear. The band aims to achieve the goal of ‘1 Shoe Processed for 1 Shoe Sold’ by FY 24-25-end.

With its tagline, ‘Your shoes won't last forever, but neither will the world we walk on if we don't care, the campaign narrates the story of a young boy named Kiaan who recycles his well-loved old shoes with Metro.

In FY’24, Metro Brands sold 95 lakh pairs of footwear and processed 47 lakh pairs to recycle, The business aims to recycle as many pairs as it sells this fiscal.

Having opened its first ‘Metro’ store in Mumbai in 1955, Metro Brands offers footwear for men, women, and children. The retailer’s footwear are retailed under its own brands Metro, Mochi, Walkway, Da Vinchi, and J Fontini along with third-party brands such as Crocs, Fitflop, and Fila. As of June 30, 2024, the company boasted 851 stores in 195 Indian cities.
