Ministry of Com & Industry: India’s kidswear exports grow by 23.20% in FY21-22

India’s kidswear exports grew by 23.20 per cent in FY 2021-2022, as per data by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The South Asian country earned $16.04 billion in FY ’22.
One of the fastest-growing sections in India, the kidswear segment is seeing the rise of many prominent Indian brands in the market and the diversification of product ranges by prevailing ones by introducing sustainable categories, gender-neutral attire, and many more.
According to experts, outbreaks of COVID are declining in Europe and US. As a result, this year, exports of kidswear ‘Made in India’ are growing, diversifying, and rapidly becoming one of the key drivers of the industry.
The US has emerged was the largest export market for kidswear with $437.97 million export. The market accounted for around 35 per cent share of India’s kidswear export values. The UK was the second-highest export market with $188.42 million. Witnessing a 15.05 per cent increase. Among the European countries – kidswear exports to Germany surged to $51.6 million and France to $50.46 million.
