29th August 2021, Mumbai:
Kolkata-based footwear and leather accessories manufacturer, Sreeleathers plans to strengthen its online presence to overcome the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per Fashion Network, one of the company’s plans include diversifying its product portfolio and launching a sustainable range of footwear and accessories to cater to a wider customer base.
For the year ended March 31, 2021, Sreeleathers revenue plummeted to Rs 83 crore ($11.2 million), as compared to Rs 173 crore in the year-ago period.
However, on the back of its online expansion coupled with product diversification, the company expects the sales to be back on track by the next financial year. The company has launched a ‘vegan line of footwear’ for consumers who are conscious about sustainability and environment.
Sreeleathers currently has 41 retail outlets spread across 10 states. The company also exports to European markets and plans to enter international markets like Myanmar, Thailand, and Dubai.
