House of Anita Dongre invests in electric vehicles business
As a part of its commitment towards sustainability, designer Anita Dongre’s House of Anita Dongre has invested in Indian electric vehicles business Altigreen.
As per Fashion Network, the investment will enable Altigreen to achieve the Government’s plan to make Indian transportation completely electric by 2030. The company designs and develops electric vehicles focused on the needs of the Indian market as well as other emerging markets. It aims to make carbon-free transportation accessible.
House of Anita Dongre is known for its sustainable garment manufacturing supply chain. The brand pays homage to the supreme craftsmanship of India by creating exquisite ensembles and handcrafted jewellery, oftentimes designing collections with the sole aim of uplifting artisans.
The brand seeks to preserve the rich craft heritage of India, while also empowering rural artisans, especially women.
Under the aegis of The Anita Dongre Foundation's women empowerment initiative, the company has set up Community Tailoring Units in rural Maharashtra, India wherein marginalized and needy tribal women are trained professionally to make garments.
