Punjab Government appoints Umang Jindal as Chairman, Retail Sector Committee

In a significant move to strengthen Punjab's industrial landscape, Sanjeev Arora, Industries Minister of the state has appointed Umang Jindal, CEO, Homeland Group as Chairman, Retail Sector Committee
The state government had earlier announced its decision to create 15 new sectoral committees in the state comprising industry experts and targeted policy recommendations for their respective sectors.
The new retail sector committee will analyze policies from other states to create a ‘best-in-class’ policy framework for Punjab. The committee will provide the government with structured feedback to develop a customized industrial policy for the retail industry under Jindal’s leadership.
The retail landscape in Punjab is undergoing a transformative shift, driven by evolving consumer aspirations and the need for more experiential, community-centric spaces, said Jindal. He reiterated commitment to contribute meaningfully to this journey and helping shape a more vibrant, organized, and future-ready retail ecosystem across Punjab.
