Amazon India expands logistics network with 12 new fulfillment centers

30 August 2025, Mumbai

Amazon India is expanding its logistics network for the upcoming festive season. The company has launched 12 new fulfillment centers (FCs) and expanded six existing ones, adding 8.6 million cu ft of storage space, which it says is equivalent to 100 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

This expansion includes the first-ever Amazon fulfillment centers in five cities including Hooghly, Tiruvallur, Krishnagiri, Visakhapatnam, and Hubballi. The e-commerce giant is also opening six new sort centers (SCs) in Hubli, Trivandrum, Rajpura, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, and Prayagraj, adding 500,000 square feet to its network.

This development follows a previous announcement in June when the company unveiled five new fulfillment centers and over 30 last-mile delivery stations. These new sites will be managed by strategic logistics partners to improve delivery speeds nationwide.

Abhinav Singh, Vice President -Operations India & Australia at Amazon, states, this expansion will help sellers serve customers across the country and provide the fastest, safest, and most reliable deliveries. The company's long-term goal is to build a leading logistics network that reaches every single pin code in India, he adds.

Earlier in 2025, Amazon India committed an additional Rs 2,000 crore to strengthen its network. This investment is aimed at boosting infrastructure, enhancing associate safety, and developing advanced technologies. With these expansions and seasonal hirings, the company is positioning itself to meet the increased festive season demand while also contributing to regional job creation and economic growth.
