CMAI unveils 'Brands of India' - A game-changer for Indian apparel brands in Dubai

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) is set to revolutionize the global apparel industry with its pioneering initiative, 'Brands of India.' This groundbreaking B2B trade show, supported by the Embassy of India, Dubai Chamber, TEXMAS, Dubai Textile Merchants Association, and the RGM Group, is scheduled to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Halls 6 & 7, from November 27th to 29th, 2023.
India's largest apparel showcase in the Middle East
'Brands of India' promises to be India's largest apparel brands show in the Middle East. It brings together over 250 top Indian apparel brands under one roof, spanning Indian ethnic wear, Western wear, and Fusion Wear across Menswear, Womenswear, and Kidswear categories.
Jayesh Shah, Vice President of CMAI and Chairman of the Brands of India Committee, expressed his excitement about the initiative, stating, "Indian craftsmanship has transcended boundaries, and we've surpassed our goal of featuring 150 brands, with over 250 to be showcased."
Global expansion of Indian apparel
The show comes at a time when Indian apparel brands are experiencing growing demand globally. Rajesh Masand, President of CMAI, noted, "Indian apparel brands have made substantial advancements in the GCC countries and African markets, with Indian apparel exports estimated at approximately US$ 2426 million and US$ 913 million, constituting a substantial share of 21% and 19%, respectively."
Promotion of 'Make in India'
Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor of CMAI, emphasized the significance of the 'Brands of India' show in promoting Indian apparel brands, aligning with the 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives.
Connecting buyers and brands
'Brands of India' is designed to be the primary destination for wholesalers, retailers, distributors, importers, and departmental chains in the MENA region to connect with leading Indian apparel brands. Notable participants include Louis Philippe, Soch, Spykar, and Gini & Jony.

Dubai's strategic location, known for its exceptional infrastructure, connectivity, free trade zones, and business-friendly policies, makes it the ideal epicenter for international trade.
Grand curtain raiser event
On September 14, 2023, the 'Brands of India' initiative was officially launched in Dubai, graced by H.E. Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the United Arab Emirates.
The event drew industry leaders and was well-received by local buying groups, marking a new era for Indian apparel brands on the global stage.
