For the second quarter Dollar Industries’ net profit fell by 60 percent. The company’s revenue for the quarter was down by 12 percent. On a six-month basis, revenue grew by 18 percent. Domestic sales showed a growth of ten percent in terms of volume while modern trade and e-commerce sale showed a growth of 67 percent in terms of volume on a six-month basis.
During the first half of the fiscal year, Dollar opened eight exclusive brand outlets and plans to open around 12 more stores in the coming months. Kolkata-based knitwear manufacturer Dollar is one of the leading players in the innerwear and athleisure segment with a strong presence across India.
Dollar always tries to maintain the EBITDA margin at 16 per cent or 17 per cent. Big Boss is the flagship brand. The premium product now accounts for around 42 per cent of the Dollar’s total turnover and the economy range is around 58 per cent.
Until now, the company had a very limited presence in the women’s innerwear category. But this year Dollar has already launched brassiere in the Missy segment and has also launched Kurtis. Some more products are lined up.
