H&M expands retail presence in India with two new stores

Swedish fashion giant Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) has expanded its presence in India with the inauguration of two new stores in Pune and Bengaluru. These new mark the 57th and 58th stores for H&M in the country. Notably, the Bengaluru store is the brand's sixth establishment in the city, while the Pune store is the fourth in the metropolis.
The Pune store, situated in the Phoenix Mall of the Millennium, adopts H&M's home concept introduced in 2033.
Backdrop
Since entering the Indian market in 2015, the Stockholm-based H&M has successfully opened 58 stores across the country. In comparison, Zara, owned by Inditex, has established only 21 stores.
Founded in 1947 by Erling Persson, H&M made its debut in India in October 2015. Presently, the brand operates in 30 cities across India, offering a seamless online shopping experience through its website, app, and the fashion e-commerce platform Myntra.
