Fashion marketplace 'Vasaas' onboards over 400 clothing brands in six months
02 September 2021, Mumbai:
Multi-brand fashion marketplace Vasaas has onboarded over 400 Indian clothing and accessories brands in its first six months and has reached a gross merchandise value of $300,000 (Rs 2.2 crore) in the same timeframe.
Launched half a year ago by Divyansh Kapoor and Himanshu Sharma, Vasaas aims to help Indian brands with their promotion and distribution strategy. The platform also runs a made-to-order service to enable customers to customize products by different brands.
Of its group of 400 Indian brands, 300 are only available to purchase online through Vasaas. The website plans to have onboarded a total of 1,000 brands by the end of the year.
The platform works with its sellers to support them through the entire supply chain including manufacturing, taking product photos, writing product listings, promoting launches, and logistics. Vasaas is also in the process of developing WhatsApp-based services for its sellers to enable them to grow by using the communications app which has proved popular for reaching customers, a trend amplified by the pandemic.
Brands currently retailing on the site include Mannmani, Sumaya by Rashi, Bofreesia, Avalipt, Mallika Arora Label, and Aroop Shop among others. The website has segments for men and women as well as for western and traditional wear.
