Sustainability today is a business imperative and yes an achievable goal too. To identify the issues and find solutions, brands and retailers must collaborate with their suppliers.

Adopting more sustainable practices & materials in textiles would be the first start. However, it may have a load factor & might increase base prices by 5–10%. It is a domino effect on the rest of the sector.

Larger orders will result from large businesses sourcing more ethical fabrics & responsibly for their collections, lowering the total production cost and making the product more affordable for the general public.

The retailers these days closely supervise the production of clothing at various locations and how it is packaged and sent to the design of the stores in terms of environmental responsibility.

'Sustainable development for the planet is not a luxury anymore but it is a necessity now.' Living sustainably is now a need to protect the environment for future generations. It is the responsibility of every one of us to change the way we live to be able to lessen the carbon impact. The same is true for the textile and fashion industries. Embracing sustainability is like asking the fashion industry/luxury to become more disciplined & go down a path in terms of being responsible and resilient.
