Amazon India has strengthened its storage capacity in India with the launch of a new fulfillment center in the state of West Bengal.
The new fulfillment center is the company’s largest in the State with a storage capacity of 1.2 million cubic feet. With the addition of this new center, Amazon India’s infrastructure now stands at more than 3.4 million cubic feet across five fulfillment centers.
The new center is expected to help 25,000 sellers in West Bengal offer a wider selection and enable faster deliveries within the region and neighboring States ahead of the upcoming festival season.
This summer, Amazon India invested significantly in its logistics segment. In July, the business announced that it plans to add 10 new fulfillment centers to its warehouse network and expand five existing buildings.
The centers are used to sort customer order packages before they are then sent to delivery stations.
