China's Economy Grows in Q2, but Still Below Expectations

China’s economy grew by 6.3% in Q2, higher than Q1’s 4.5% but lower than expected 7.3%. H1 growth was 5.5%, matching the annual target of around 5%.

Beijing avoided large stimulus despite rising local debt. Retail sales slowed down while industrial output picked up in June.
