E-commerce players expand services in 'East India'

E-commerce players are expanding their logistics and warehouse infrastructure in East India. Flipkart has opened a 2.4 lakh sq.ft fulfillment centre in Kolkata. Amazon has also firmed up plans to accelerate deliveries in the east. Recent events like Prime Day 2021, Great Freedom Festival, Rakhi store, Onam store, etc, witnessed a huge surge in orders from the region. Small retail and kirana shops have started selling goods with home delivery on WhatsApp and accepting payments through UPI apps like GPay, PhonePe and others, adds Sunit Kumar Nandi, Founder, Letter, India’s privacy-first email provider.
