Decathlon Sports India has relocated its flagship store in Chennai from Anna Salai to Pondy Bazaar, a bustling commercial hub in the city. Spanning 24,000 sq ft, the new outlet is one of the largest Decathlon stores in Tamil Nadu.

A key part of the company's broader retail strategy, this relocation aims to boost accessibility and increase brand visibility in high-traffic urban areas. The move underscores Decathlon's ongoing commitment to strengthening its retail presence across South India and reaching a wider customer base.

Rahul Phukan, Business Development Director and Legal Referent, Decathlon Sports India, says, after its incredibly fulfilling journey at Anna Salai, the brand continues its operations with the same spirit to Pondy Bazaar. The new outlets offers more space and increased number of products and services, he adds.

Offering an expanded selection of sporting goods, the new store covers popular categories like fitness, cycling, football, and trekking. It also introduces enhanced services such as racket stringing, custom T-shirt printing, and expedited delivery for essential gear.

Designed with inclusivity in mind, the new space caters to a diverse range of customers, from seasoned athletes to beginners and recreational users. The seamless transition from Anna Salai was a collaborative effort involving Decathlon's retail, business development, and support teams.

Decathlon currently operates over 100 stores across India and continues to prioritize expanding its footprint through large-format outlets in strategic locations. The brand's retail model blends extensive product variety with competitive pricing, complemented by in-store services designed to elevate the overall customer experience. By moving to Pondy Bazaar, Decathlon aims to capitalize on increased footfall and better align its store format with consumer demand in a prime retail zone.
