Luxury womenswear brand Ekaya has launched a range of scented candles inspired by Banarasi handloom textiles in joint venture with homeware label Objectry.
Designed to resemble the elegant thread reel that bring the Banarasi to life, these candles capture the very soul of a saree. They are infused with the soft, floral notes of mimosa and ylang ylang, reminiscent of the handwoven motifs that adorn generations-old Banarasi silks.
The candles come with holders resembling spools of metallic thread, available in copper, midnight blue, magenta, ivory, and mink shades. Retailing its conceptual homeware from its direct to customer e-commerce store, Objectry aims to celebrate the simplicity of design of these candles, according to the brand’s website.
Having explored numerous collaborations over the years, Ekaya teamed up with women's ready to wear label 431-88 by Shweta Kapur in January 2025 to launch a range of minimalist sarees designed for everyday and festive wear. The brand has also entered into partnerships with other designers including Anu Merton, Aulerth Opaline, and Kunal Rawal, etc.
Describing itself as India’s first handloom luxury brand, Ekaya is a Benaras-based fourth generation family business.
