EU's January 2023 Apparel Imports

The latest data released by EUROSTAT includes statistics and analyses on the EU's apparel import for the first month of 2023.

Bangladesh has remained the second largest source of apparel import for Europe, accounting for 22.69% of the EU's total apparel import.

What all you need to know

In January 2023, the EU's total apparel import from Bangladesh increased by 8.27% compared to the same period in 2022, totaling US$ 1.86 billion. China is the largest apparel import source for the EU, but its import has decreased by 7.47% year-over-year to reach US$ 2.32 billion in January 2023, marking a decline of 180 million dollars.

Turkey, on the other hand, is the third largest apparel source for the EU, but its clothing import has decreased by 5.74% year-over-year, reaching US$ 972.36 million in January.

Meanwhile, the EU's import from India and Vietnam has increased by 10.93% and 6.07%, respectively. Cambodia, Morocco, and Sri Lanka, among other major sources, have shown negative year-over-year growths of 10.73%, 9.99%, and 14.33%, respectively.
