Expanding ABFRL presence, Pantaloons opens 100th store in South India

The Aditya Birla Group-owned department store chain Pantaloons has achieved a significant milestone with the opening of its 100th store in Thrissur, Kerala in South India.
With the addition of the Thrissur store, Pantaloons now operates 344 stores across more than 170 towns and cities in India.
Pantaloons is a unit of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL), which acquired the retailer from the Kishore Biyani-run Future Group in May 2015. Today, the department store chain offers over 100 licensed and international brands at its outlets, including its exclusive in-house brands for men, women, and kids.
Pantaloons' milestone achievement highlights the continued success of ABFRL in expanding its presence in the Indian retail market and providing consumers with a diverse range of fashion choices. ABFRL has an even more extensive network, with 3,212 brand stores across the country, and a presence in 31,000 multi-brand outlets and over 6,800 points of sale in department stores throughout India.
ABFRL's portfolio of brands includes Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, The Collective, Simon Carter, American Eagle, Ralph Lauren, Hackett London, Ted Baker, and Fred Perry. Additionally, ABFRL has recently made strategic investments in the branded ethnic wear business, with acquisitions of Jaypore, Shantanu & Nikhil, Sabyasachi, and Tarun Tahiliani.
