Drawn has collaborated with artist Richa Kashelkar on a 1979s-inspired women’swear collection.
The collaborative line features a selection of painterly dresses and separates. With a color palette of green, blue, neutral, and pink, the collection mixes oversized silhouettes with an artistic yet relaxed approach to dressing. The ’70s fashion was marked by individuality and expression. Successfully breaking through the norms of conventional fashion, it was high-profile, flamboyant, and inspired by flower power. And Drawn’s new collection, in collaboration with artist Richa Kashelkar, is all about bringing the retro ’70s back. Notable items in the collection include the retro style Passengers of the realm Big Little Dress which is loose, features a bold print, and has feminine, frilly details. Made using viscose satin, items in the collection are designed to offer comfortable options from day to evening.
The collection takes paintings by Kashelkar and prints them onto textiles to create a sort of wearable painting. Kashelkar’s blue hued painting Maya/Illusion is rendered as an off-the-shoulder dress which exemplifies Drawn’s free-spirited aesthetic. Drawn, founded in 2020, focuses on delivering timeless wardrobe winners with a twist. Taking on strong, classic silhouettes and delivering them in fun, lively and mood-boosting hues and prints, the collections are small but pack a punch.'
