Government to set up textile park in Bihar

Union minister for law and justice Ravi Shankar Prasad said he would make sincere efforts to persuade the officials of the ministry concerned to set up a textile park in Bihar.

Spelling out the philosophy of the Budget, Prasad said the Narendra Modi government was committed to making ‘Swachh Bharat’, ‘Swastha Bharat’, ‘Surakshit Bharat’ and ‘Sankalpit Bharat’ with all-round development.

Pointing out a new initiative called production linked (PLI), the Union minister said the central government would provide new incentives related to production to companies with the motto ‘the more you produce, the more you get’.

He said the Budget also envisaged setting up critical care units in 602 districts and proper nutrition in 102 districts across the country. Prasad described the Budget as historic and said the Modi-led government at the Centre was committed to taking the development of the country to a new height.

Monte Carlo posts Rs 79.35 crore net profit in Q3FY21

 
 

Monte Carlo posted net profit of Rs.79.35 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2020 as against net loss of Rs 4.42 crore for the period ended September 30, 2020. The company’s income grew to Rs 407.74 crore during the quarter as compared to Rs 102.73 crore during the quarter ended September 30, 2020. On a yearly basis, Monte Carlo posted a net profit of Rs 79.35 crore for the period ended December 31, 2020 as against net loss of Rs 72.26 crore for the period ended December 31, 2019.

Total income of Rs 407.74 crore during the period ended December 31, 2020 as compared to Rs.406.87 crore during the period ended December 31, 2019.

Souled Store enters football merchandize market to sell LFC’s products in India

Online fashion retailer Souled Store has entered football merchandize segment with a collaboration to sell Liverpool Football Club’s licensed apparel in India. The Souled Store will retail LFC’s licensed apparel such as t-shirts, shorts, joggers, jackets, sweatshirts and socks through an omnichannel route including flagship website, app, offline stores, and marketplaces.

Vedang Patel, Co-Founder, The Souled Store says, the launch will help them cater to today’s millennials and offer Indian Liverpool fans authentic merchandise without having to wait weeks for the products to be delivered. Jiggy George, Founder, Dream Theatre, the official licensing agent of LFC in India believes LFC fans will enjoy sporting these high-quality products.

Launched in 2013, the Souled Store retails a range of licensed products including clothing, underwear, socks, shoes, and bags. The brand holds the India license for a range of international franchises such as WWE, Disney, Warner Bros, and more.

Dollar Industries Q3 revenues grow by 22.32%

In Q3FY21, the total revenues of Dollar Industries stood at Rs 312.44 as compared to Rs 255.43 for Q3FY20 growing by 22.32 percent.

Operating Revenue for Q3FY21 stood at Rs 311.79 as compared to Rs 254.81 for Q3FY20 with a growth of 22.36 percent. EBITDA for Q3FY21 stood at Rs 43.81 crore i.e. 14.02 percent as compared to Rs 33.94 crore i.e. 13.29 percent for Q3FY20

PAT for Q3FY21 stood at Rs 28.38 crore i.e. 9.08 percent as compared to Rs 19.58 crore i.e. 7.67 percent for Q3FY20. Vinod Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Dollar Industries said, the company crossed the mark of Rs 300 crore of turnover this quarter. Also, this quarter the Industry witnessed a sharp increase in prices of cotton and yarn starting November, 2020. It will take a while before the prices stabilize for yarn. The company continues its journey of growth working on revamping the distribution channel and digitization.

Delhi HC stays order directing status quo on Future Retail-Realiance deal

The Delhi High Court stayed its single judge decision directing Future Retail and various statutory authorities to maintain status quo with regard to the Rs 24,713 crore deal with Reliance Retail. The court refused to restrain statutory authorities, like National Company Law Tribunal, Competition Commission of India (CCI) and SEBI, from proceeding in accordance with law with regard to the deal. The bench also issued a notice to Amazon and sought its stand on FRL's appeal by February 26 when it will commence day-to-day hearing of the matter.

Amazon had first filed a plea before the single judge for enforcement of the October 25, 2020 Emergency Arbitrator (EA) award by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) restraining FRL from going ahead with its Rs 24,713 crore deal with Reliance Retail. In the interim order, the division bench said it was staying the single judge order as firstly, FRL was not a party to the share subscription agreement (SSA) between Amazon and Future Coupons (FCPL) and the US e-commerce giant was not a party to the deal between FRL and Reliance Retail.

TCNS Clothing posts Rs 12.66 crore profit in Q3FY20-21

In its third quarter ended December 31, 2020, TCNS Clothing posted a net PAT of Rs 12.66 crore as against a loss of 27.58 crore during the quarter ended December 31, 2020. Total income was Rs 242.82 crore during the quarter ended December 31, 2020 as compared to Rs 153.50 crore during the period ended September 30, 2020.

On a yearly basis, TCNS Clothing posted a net loss of Rs 12.66 crore for the period ended December 31, 2020 as against net profit of Rs 55.02 crore for the period ended December 31, 2019. Total income was Rs 242.82 crore during the period ended December 31, 2020 as compared to Rs 336.14 crore during the period ended December 31, 2019.

India’s wool exports reach $181.23 million in 2019-20

In 2019-20, export of woollen yarn, fabrics, made ups etc. reached $181.23 million. As per India Brand Equity Foundation report, export of woollen yarn, fabrics, made ups etc. export between April 2020 to October 2020 was $ 56.51 and for the month of October 2020 it was $9.83 million.

The export of raw wool valued accounted for 2020 US$ 80,000 from April to October 2020.

US and EU are key export destinations for Indian wool and wool-blended products. Indian exporters are geographically diversifying their exports to other regions such as the Middle East, Latin America, South East Asia, and East Asia to increase their footprint globally.

Major importers of woollen yarn, fabrics and made-ups in FY19 were China, Italy, Japan Korea, UK and US.

India is the ninth-largest producer of wool in the world with a global production share of nearly 2 per cent. India’s wool consumption is expected to reach 260 million kgs by 2019-20. The wool industry is concentrated in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Punjab accounts for about 35 percent of the wool production units in India, followed by Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

Cantabil Retail India posted net profit of Rs.10.12 croreduring the third quarter of FY20-21 that ended December 31, 2020 as against net loss of Rs.0.69 crore for the period ended September 30, 2020.

The company reported total income of Rs.101.44 croreduring the period that ended December 31, 2020 as compared to Rs.53.20 crore during the period ended September 30, 2020.

The company reported EPS of Rs.6.20 for the period ended December 31, 2020 as compared to Rs.0.42 for the period ended September 30, 2020.

The company has posted net loss of Rs.10.12 crore for the period ended December 31, 2020 as against net profitof Rs.11.30 crore for the period ended December 31, 2019.

The company reported total income of Rs.101.44 crore during the period ended December 31, 2020 as compared to Rs.104.98 crore during the period ended December 31, 2019.

The company reported EPS of Rs.6.20 for the period ended December 31, 2020 as compared to Rs.6.92 for the period ended December 31, 2019.
