Designer Anjul Bhandari promotes Kaamdani technique in latest collection

16 March 2022, Mumbai:

Designer Anjul Bhandari is using metallic embroidery techniques in her latest collection launched to promote traditional craft technique Kaamdani.

The designer has forged relationships with Kaamdani workers with the aim of keeping the traditional craft technique alive.

Her latest collection is inspired by this art form and is part of the designer’s work to revive and promote it, Anjul Bhandari announced on Instagram. Bhandari’s latest collection embellishes pastel-hued lehengas which mix the technique with Chakankari, and traditional combination.

The collection, named ‘Gulha-e-Rang’ launched at multi-brand boutique Ensemble in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai on March 9 with a showcase event in collaboration with the store’s executive director Tina Tahiliani.

Bhandari has dressed Bollywood celebrities including Deepika Padukone, Tara Sutaria and Alia Bhatt.

The brand, which launched in 2010, retails at multi-brand luxury fashion retailers Ogaan and Ensemble in India and at Ave boutique in New York.
