Japanese fashion star Issey Miyake dies at 84 Kimono-inspired works won the designer renown in haute couture.
Issey Miyake, a world-renowned fashion designer and recipient of Japan's Order of Culture, died of liver cancer on Friday at the age of 84.

His "piece of cloth" design concept, inspired by the traditions of the kimono, attracted the world's attention. Issey Miyake trousers' Pleats Please designs were also among his most notable. issey miyake vintage dress's innovative way of designing clothes broke through stereotypes and won much praise.
Miyake was named Japan's Person of Cultural Merit in 1998 and received the Order of Culture in 2010. In 2016, he was awarded the Commandeur de la Legion d'Honneur by the French government.
