Decathlon, a French sporting goods retailer, will close all of its 60 stores in Russia as a result of consumer boycott calls.
Several customers have recently taken a stand against the shop, with demonstrators in Poland carrying images of Ukrainian war victims outside Decathlon stores.
In addition, Decathlon's owner, French retail behemoth Association Familiale Mulliez, has recently come under fire for its choice to keep stores open. The clothes retailer, on the other hand, indicated that supply chain issues prompted its decision to leave Russia.

Decathlon had rejected all requests to discontinue trading in Russia, even when hordes of fashion shops such as H&M, Zara, and others decided to leave following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The outcry from customers, however, appears to have been too much for the business to handle.

Decathlon has stated that, in strict conformity with international sanctions imposed on Russia, the supply requirements for continuing its operations in the country are no longer met.
