Amazon India opens five new fulfillment centers across key strategic locations

Expanding its logistics network, Amazon India has opened five new fulfillment centers (FCs) across strategic locations including Indore, Bhubaneshwar, Kochi, Rajpura, and the Delhi-NCR area. For four of these cities, these facilities mark Amazon's first-ever FCs, significantly boosting delivery speed and efficiency nationwide just ahead of Prime Day 2025.
Currently fully operational, these new centers collectively offer over 1.8 million cu ft of storage capacity. This expansion is a part of Amazon's broader strategy to invest more than $233 million in India this year. Operated in collaboration with leading logistics partners, the facilities are designed to enhance delivery times for millions of customers and stimulate local economies by creating thousands of full-time and part-time jobs.
Amazon states, this expansion will empower sellers to serve their customers more effectively. By allowing inventory to be stored closer to demand points, the new FCs translate into faster turnaround times. These centers are crucial for strengthening Amazon's national business, which currently serves every serviceable zip code in India.
These five new fulfillment centers represent a strong investment in Amazon’s infrastructure and underscore its promise to deliver faster, more consistent deliveries to customers, says Abhinav Singh, VP Operations India and Australia. For the upcoming Prime Day, Prime members can anticipate ‘lakhs’ (hundreds of thousands) of products being delivered either on the same day or the next, he adds.
Beyond increasing physical capacity, Amazon's latest investment round will also be directed towards enhancing safety initiatives for warehouse staff and developing new technology to optimize fulfillment operations. This infrastructure boost is a long-term strategic move aimed at building the fastest and most reliable delivery network across India, the company emphasizes.
