The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) is set to make a strong presence at Bharat Tex 2025, India’s largest global textile event, from February 14 to 17 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Organized by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation and supported by the Ministry of Textiles, the event will highlight India's growing role in the global textile and apparel industry.
Focus on apparel growth and sustainability
As an integral part of the Bharat Tex Trade Federation, CMAI will promote Indian apparel manufacturers, brands, and start-ups to national and international audiences. The association will organize a dedicated pavilion featuring leading brands, host industry discussions, and introduce sustainable initiatives.
CMAI President Santosh Katariya emphasized the event's significance, stating that it provides a platform to explore partnerships and strengthen India's position in the global textile supply chain. He also urged the government to reconsider any potential revisions to GST rates that could impact the industry.
Key highlights of CMAI’s participation
Brands of India pavilion—This dedicated showcase will feature over 40 leading Indian retail brands, including Allen Solly, Biba, Calvin Klein, Forever 21, Manyavar, Peter England, Sabyasachi, Tommy Hilfiger, Westside, and more. These brands have played a key role in shaping India's domestic retail market.
Panel discussion on India size chart—Industry experts will discuss India’s first standardized size chart initiative, which aims to improve garment fit and e-commerce efficiency. The discussion will feature representatives from CMAI, Raymond Lifestyle, Arvind Fashion, Reliance Retail, Aditya Birla Fashion, and NIFT.
Panel discussion on value retail - A session on the growing importance of value retail will highlight opportunities for domestic and international brands in urban and non-urban markets. Executives from Trent Ltd, V2 Retail, Lacoste India, Vedant Fashions, and Myntra will share insights.
Launch of SU.RE website & sustainable supply chain directory—CMAI, along with Reliance Brands, the United Nations in India, and the Ministry of Textiles, will launch a platform promoting sustainable fashion and ethical business practices.
A global stage for India’s textile industry
Bharat Tex 2025 will serve as a premier international platform featuring exhibitions, knowledge sessions, business meetings, product launches, and interactive pavilions. The event aligns with the 5F vision-Farm to Fiber to Factory to Fashion to Foreign Markets, highlighting India’s manufacturing strength, sustainability efforts, and innovations. The event is expected to attract over 5,000 exhibitors, 6,000+ overseas buyers from 110+ countries, and more than 10,000 domestic trade visitors.
CMAI’s contribution to MSME and innovation
In addition to its key initiatives, CMAI is also supporting over 100 MSME exhibitors across apparel, fashion, textiles, fabrics, start-ups, and innovation. Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor at CMAI, highlighted the transformation of the textile and apparel industry, with sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation playing a crucial role. CMAI aims to foster global collaborations and promote India’s capabilities on an international scale.
