Pepe Jeans India to adopt AR and VR technologies to enhance shopping experience

Pepe Jeans India plans to integrate both augmented reality and virtual reality technologies into its operations to enhance the shopping experience for customers.

This will allow the denim and casual wear brand to enable Virtual Try-on (VTO) into its shops besides developing a smart mirror to help customers choose garments, visual fittings, share images on instagram and facilitate automatic checkout, says Satish Karunakaran, Director-Transformation.

Pepe Jeans India has been investing in technology since 2017 when it first implemented the end-to-end ERP software, SAP to cover numerous business processes. This helped the brand increase operational efficiency and enable real-time reporting, adds Karunakaran. The business recently also implemented the SalesForce Commerce Cloud on its business to customer website besides upgrading the human resources department to feature Darwinbox and GPS-based attendance systems.

Besides, Pepe Jeans India also aims to open 100 new stores in the coming three years, as per a report by the Press Trust of India. During this period, the brand plans to increase the contribution of direct-to-customer retail, both online and in stores to 35 per cent and 40 per cent respectively. The business also aims to boost its total revenues to Rs 2,000 crore during this period.
