RAI hosts MMR 2024 Conclave, focuses on upskilling for future talent

The 18th edition of Manning Modern Retail (MMR) 2024 HR Conclave, hosted by the Retailers Association of India (RAI), was held on September 19, 2024. This event brought together leading CEOs, CHROs, and industry experts under the theme “Evolve, Engage, and Elevate - Shaping the Future of Talent.”
With the rapid evolution of technology, businesses are now prioritizing human capital as the key differentiator. The conclave emphasized that while technology continues to advance, the real challenge is up skilling the workforce quickly to stay competitive.
Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO of RAI, emphasized that people are the most valuable asset for any organization. He highlighted that businesses focusing on talent development and continuous learning will play a crucial role in shaping the future.
A keynote by CK Venkataraman, MD of Titan Company Ltd, highlighted HR's role in driving digital transformation. He emphasized that HR must champion a culture of agility and innovation, aligning talent strategies with business goals.
Other notable speakers included Adhir Mane of Raymond Ltd, Asim Jagdale of Arvind Fashions, Anjali Goel of V-Mart Retail, and industry leaders from IKEA, Flipkart, and bigbasket, among others. They discussed the importance of equipping teams with the skills to thrive in a fast-changing business environment.

The 18th Manning Modern Retail (MMR) HR Conclave concluded with the 8th Retail HR Awards, celebrating excellence in HR leadership and innovation. Rahul Roy from Reliance Retail won the Emerging Young Leader in HR award, with Apeksha Garse (bigbasket) and Geetanjali Menon (Reliance Retail) as runners-up.
NMP Readymades Pvt. Ltd. claimed the top spot in the Employee Retention Champion: Leading Innovation (Small Team Category), followed by Celio Retail and Nykaa. In the Large Team Category, Reliance Retail (Grocery) and Shoppers Stop Ltd shared the winner's title, with bigbasket and Titan Company Ltd as runners-up. MMR continues to be the premier platform for retail HR, fostering collaboration and innovative strategies for industry growth.
