Marks & Spencer (M&S) Reliance India has appointed Stephen Smy as the new Managing Director for India. In his role at the joint venture company, Smy will oversee its ongoing retail expansion and development across the country. He will succeed Ritesh Mishra, who stepped down from the role earlier this year.
Smy brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having held various roles at Marks & Spencer, including Head of Store Launch and Trading Projects. Since taking on his new role, Smy has traveled to India to oversee several development initiatives.
With over 26 years of experience at Marks & Spencer, Smy is well-equipped to lead the joint venture between Marks & Spencer and Reliance Industries’ Reliance Retail, which manages the brand’s presence in the Indian market, both online and offline.
